Have heard anecdotal stories of this breath of fresh air - a bus driver who chats, sings and jokes throughout the day...

    Someone said he was French?

Does anyone know of him and if he's still around? Public transport is getting me down....!

Does he sing the Dublin Bus song, about the fate of bus queues? It goes:

"Somewhere, beyond the sea, somewhere, waiting for me...."

It was definitely a Dublin bus, possibly on the Swords route?

Yes, I've heard him on the Gerry Ryan Show before. I believe he drives one of the Airport routes and does an occasional spot of juggling.

A French guy who is on the 123 route sometimes gets out of his seat and juggles while stopped in heavy traffic. He also jokes and chats with everyone who gets on.

Once after finshing juggling, he joked "and now I will juggle flaming torches" which got much nervous laughter.

Certainly he is a breath of fresh air.

Only juggling I see by drivers is with their mobiles in one hand.... coffee in another... with the Herald and the wheel getting a look in somewhere in between as they fly around a roundabout...

There is a character on the 48A route. Seems to have a German accent. Very helpful to passengers who want to alight near a certain location but has plenty of funny comments.

I remember travelling on a Muni tram in San Francisco who spoke in a soft "rapping"style asking passengers how they were and it was going to be a good day etc. I think it's good that you have these employees on public transport!

Yeah the french guy used to do the 16. He was great :D He'd drive past the bus stop's (like 10 meters) and you'd see all teh reactions of the folks just standing outside expecting it to stop.

Lots of jokes and singing as well.

Yea's he's french and brilliant. Quite often does the 41 routes.

Used to always do the 7.16 from swords Manor. I used to get on feeling grumpy and sleepy on the way to work only to have his cheery good morning brighten the day.

He seems to have the knack of being cheery and friendly first thing in the morning without you wishing to kill him.

Quite often sings over the mike as well.

    He should get an award.

the twats who run dublin bus would probably ban him doing that.

there's some real sound lads on the 48A, most of them are on the 14 since the change.
