Two kind of tricky MTT hands

$200 FO on VC. There are 7 players left, 6 get paid. Play is quite aggressive and I have a bad table image, not that it makes any difference for these hands. On two consecutive hands I get AK and its raised and reraised before it gets to me. Ak is probably good against the range, but to play the hand I would have to call all in on the bubble, theres a shortstack who is about to go bust. The button/cutoff is playing quite tight, but his reraising range probably contains AQ.

Hand 1 utg who is shortstack raises 2 blinds. The cutoff puts him all in, Call or fold? I folded as did utg leaving himself with 5 blinds

Hand 2 Utg limps. The button (same player) makes it more than half my stack (I have 8.5 blinds left). All in or fold?

How much did the player who reraised the shorty have after the reraise in hand 1?

I probably break the mousepad pushing in hand 2.

He had quite a big stack, ie over 15 blinds.

6K on VC is one tourny where the bubble is worth avoiding.. If 8.5 blinds was low in comparison to the rest of the stacks (excluding the short stack) I might call, but if you are relatively comfortable I'd probably fold and wait for the money..

edit: this applies to both hands

Hand 1 is nasty alright. I'm leaning towards a fold also. Considering the shorty will call most of the time (what a ****ing idiot btw) and that there are other players also in trouble, I'd rather not volunteer just yet.

How much of your stack would the first call be? It might be worth it to check it down with the reraiser as he seems to be isolating the original raiser. I'd probably fold though.

Second hand I'd push most likely (you dont say where in the round you are afaics).

Yeah hand 1 I assumed the ss would call all in. Hand 2 is very similar though, now the ss is almost out and there is an utg limp. I folded - but then maybe im getting weak tight in my old age.

Id be literally calling all in on hand 1, and hand 2 I have 0 folding equity.

On hand two, whats the range that this guy might play? Could he be all in with KJ or is he likely to only do that with a pair? In the state you're stack is in I might raise all in on the second hand even if I knew he was likely to be playing a pair as you dont have a lot of time to find better spots but I wouldnt like it.

The problem is im not really sure. I dont think he would be raising an utg limper with KJs, allthough you never know. I ended up folding the 2nd hand hoping that either utg would have limped with AA/kk or that the shortstack would go bust before me.

The shortstack went bust a few hands later as Id hoped. I hung on for a while then doubled up with 99. I was actually able to play poker after that and went on to win, but im not sure if folding AK in both those spots was wise. If this was normal tournament I probably would of called, $460 for 6th was appealing.
