If I'm driving on the M50 northbound, which is the best exit to get off at? The Red Cow roundabout or the N4 exit?

    N4 exit.

Then keep left into Liffey Valley and out onto the Coldcut Road and Cherry Orchard Hospital. Much better than going right at the N4 Interchange and along Kennelsfort Road (too many traffic lights and ramps). ;)

That depends on time of day and where you're going. Cherry Orchard down to Ballyfermot can be dreadful for traffic. To get to the lower end, you should take the Lucan Road inbound and take the Chapelizod exit. Then turn right up Kylemore Road.
