Started off really disliking this show thinking of it as a carbon copy of Oliver Beene with jokes that were done in the PJ's about 6 years ago.

But it really has grew on me more and more each week.

Some truly hilarious moments with some quite close-to-the-bone humour for a family show.

Anyone else enjoying it as much as i am?

Watched the first two shows, and called my cousins to get them to stop sending it **. Didn't think it was that funny at all.... Chris Rocks narration is funnier than anything that happens in the show itself. Does it get any better?

** Is this 'cousin' stuff getting old for anyone else? :)

For what its worth, How I Met Your Mother wins the 'best new comedy' award for me....... Its been funny every week so far, and has really likeable characters (a bit like Friends was at the start before the actors got delusions of grandeur).

Neil Patrick Harris is great in this show.... He has come a long way from Doogie Howser!

I didn't know it was being aired yet, heh. :-/ I'll have to get on to my alcoholic brother to sort me out with the show.

Ye it is by far the best new comedy this season. No contest IMO. Similar to Oliver Beene?? Where did you get that from...!? The style is obviously the Wonder years type thing, but Chris is actually funny whereas Beene was not. I love the father knowing what everything costs...thats 12cents worth of milk! Somone's gonna drink that milk! :D

One of the funniest bits for me so far this season...
In episode 2 where Chris catches Drew kissing Keisha..

".. I had never had a broken heart before. I was so messed up, nothing could get me out of it!..."

Chris walks down the front steps of his house to a big group of teenage black girls waving around signs with "Pick Me, Chris" / "I Love You Chris" / "2 Hell With Keisha, Pick Me" and Chris walks through them all ignoring them as he goes.

The group of girls disperse to leave a single white teenage girl in the middle holiding up a sign saying "Try A White Girl!"

    ... hilarious stuff!!

I would just like to second the opinion for How I Met your Mother. It's sitcom by the numbers but done very well with a great cast. Suit up!

Only watched a few episodes of "Chris" and though t it was ok.

On the topic of new comedy My Name Is Earl should get an honourable mention too.

    Very true!

A show that has gotten better each week - and also features at least one excellent song per episode!

Saw the pilot just now. Didn't laugh once I'm afraid. I guess I just don't get it. Either way I won't be asking my cousin for any more eps.

Watched the pilot of 'How I Met Your Mother' and thought it was woeful stuff!

"Suit Up!" and the pirate jokes!

Ye to be honest I though the pilot of How I Met Your Mother was terrible low brow American comedy. I.e. Comedy for the unintelligent, think the opposite if Arrested Development or Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The pilot was OK, but it got better after that.....

    Meh... I'm really digging a f**king hole for myself here, aren't I? :)

I love Chris, to my pleasant surprise, it's one of the few shows I actually look forward to as opposed to watching when the ones I look forward to are over... which is how I'd describe My Name is Earl - worth a spin, but I woudn't cry if I missed it.
How I Met Your Mother... even the title makes me want to smack someone, so I don't think I'll be jumping on that bandwagon just yet.

Is Funland a comedy? Only watched the first episode - I laughed, but that's no real indicator - but it looks like my cup of very black tea.
