why are you gonna buy a strat if you're just gonna rewire it and change the pickups etc?

Anyway, i have one, and i'm just waiting on a SD JB Jnr i ordered for the bridge position, i'm hoping that'll it'll sound sweet, time will tell.

I haven't actually done anything to my strat yet (unless pickling it in 3-in-1 oil counts as a mod) but a simple mod that seems to make sense is changing the second tone knob to work on the bridge pick-up instead of the middle pup.

Get some Fralins. SDs are passé these days. ;)

I haven't done anything to my Strat because it's Mexican and I hate it. But if I had a good Strat I'd rewire it to add Bridge/Neck and Bridge/Middle/Neck as pickup options. Possibly just wire it for three volume knobs, one for each pickup. It's not like I ever use the Tone control, so I think I might hardwire it with a fixed resistor. Or get a Warmoth Strat and have it routed for an extra pot. And a bridge humbucker. Then you could add a coil tap.

Maybe a switch for putting the pickups in series. Dunno if that'd be great though... I did it to my bass and haven't found a use for the sound yet. Turns out they wire them in parallel because it sounds better. :)

Just put another 5 way switch in it ;) Wire it up to put pickups in serial or parellel, put different caps/resistors across each. Loads of options tbh.
