What d f**k is dat all about.
Last week I went back asleep Due to the monotony of dat b******s voice.
just leave him the Eurovision I dont have to enjoy that or even watch it But the first radio slot I listen to should @least keep me awake.

That 2FM morning slot has been going downhill for years now

First tubridy left
Then those other 1s came (I dont even rember their names)
And now d king of the Eurovision,(No not Jhonny Logan) Marty "used to be ginger " in the morning is filling the slot.
But what's even worse is

THE REASON DAT MARTY Welan is on the air:
Because (now I remember) Rick +Ruth (Dat's their names) ratings were too high in comparison to Gerry Ryan, Like did they not think that Gerry Ryan just aint gud no more.

To convert starting NOW to TODAY FM

I call everyone who is opposed to marty to do the same

rick and ruth's ratings weren't high.. they lost thousands of listeners. john clarke put marty on before gerry because he would attract more listeners and keep them listening for ryans' show

Rick and Ruth didn't lose thousands of listeners. They were not doing their show long enough to determine how many listeners they had - JNLR figures cannot show up figures for shows that are on air three months or whatever it was.

Gerry Ryan needs to concentrate more on the fact that Ray D'Arcy is simply appealing to more people than Gerry is.

Rick and Ruth didn't lose thousands of listeners. They were not doing their show long enough to determine how many listeners they had - JNLR figures cannot show up figures for shows that are on air three months or whatever it was.

All radio stations also carry out their own private listenership research and this would have shown that figures were down for the morning show. If figures were good they wouldn't have taken the show off the air, simple as that.

Gerry Ryan needs to concentrate more on the fact that Ray D'Arcy is simply appealing to more people than Gerry is.

Gerry Ryan has way more listeners than Ray D'arcy so what do you mean?

I've only worked for one of the biggest stations in the country for the last 8 years. I know nothing. :rolleyes:

Firstly, I don't think Rick & Ruth's demise was based on in house tracking (which uses quite a bit of a smaller sample than JNLRs). It was more about G Ryan throwing his substantial amount of weight around.

Secondly, nobody is arguing that Gerry doesn't have MORE listeners than D'Arcy but D'Arcy HAS hacked away at quite a substantial number of his under 35s. In the last at least 3 books, Ryan has been down, D'Arcy has been up - fact.

the great pity is that RTE gave the Finucane spot to the whittering idiot they have on now at 9.00 am.

He must have driven listeners away in their droves. Tabloid broadcasting at its worse.

Love his show - nice tunes and nice and light in the morning - Sure Wogan has been doing the same sort of show for years and guess what........ he has the biggest show in the UK....
