Anybody care to share numbers, contacts or advice on getting gigs, setting up band communities (something thats predominantly inaccessible to musicians in Dublin right now) etc.

Have played the typical places, in the city centre, Voodoo lounge and Eamon Dorans. Im pretty sure theres a hell o a lot more interesting, not to mention professional venues, options for small time (angry) bands, performing music that may be a little scary to the random gig goer...

    Over to you.

    what genre music ?
join some irish forums dedicated to your music i.e metalireland or eirecore
get yourselves known, expand your circles, check out similiar sounding bands, get to know them, print up flyers, create a website, create a forum on your website, post mp3's on your site, join myspace, join cpu.ie, post up mp3's on both, give out cd's and flyers at random gigs
    yadda yadda yadda
    Advertise, advertise, advertise!!!

i have no idea what type of music, ye play
but there are literally tons of availability for hardcore, punk and metal gigs on every month....you just need to use it to your advantage

coool!! Ya see, ya think o all this randomly but to have it put to you in list format really looks impressive. Thats deadly folks thanks a million.

One o the bands I'm in is the one I'm thinking about and its Grunge/Punk/Riot Grrrl type fun and screaming and bizarrity. We've got in touch with some punk bands like the restarts and free booters so hopefully they might hook us up. So thats a start. We'll have to get the website up alright true true.

The other band I'm playing in is much more laid back but still quite alternative, its just a little friendlier so the selection o venues/ crowds/ bands to hook up with is larger or whatever, I'm sure you know what I mean.

    Thats great.
