€7.67 an hour but most will give a small percent extra(usually 8%) as holiday pay.

    Minimum wage.

As it's just a newsagents, don't expect holiday pay or sick pay and you won't be disappointed.

Well, as I said above, most supermarkets and newsagents add 8% to their employees pay so that should they go away on a holiday(the employee), they(the employer/newsagent/supermarket etc) don't have to pay actual holiday pay.

Well I've worked part time in Iceland, The Carlow Bookshop, Dunnes Stores and Tesco over the years and the only one to pay over minimum wage was Dunnes.

I think it was a sweetner to put up with the downright rude bastard managers, you were expected to call the shop manager sir, yet he could address with you with an attempted grunt.. is this the 50's? lol.

Under certain circumstances you are not entitled to the 7.65 even if 18.

Just be aware. Although most places do it anyway, by law the wage for 18 year olds can be lower....I think its 20 or 21 you have to be to be actually guaranteed the minimum wage
