For those of you who are still using the run-of-the-mill "generic" speakers:
Get some new speakers, something with a sub-woofer smile.gif

Just got me a set of speakers - Microsoft Sound System - and Oh my god, the Base and clarity are just sexual!

So throw away those crappy bundled tin-can speakers and get yourself some nice new speakers.

    BOOOOM!
BTW, has anyone got those BOSE speakers they have in PCWORLD for £250? What are they like?

I wonder would there be much benefit in buying sexy new speakers when your soundcard is a crappy old ISA-bus SoundBlaster 16 like mine...

Yeah Munch, it'd still kick ass on a SB16, you even notice the diff on CDs 'n stuff.
You don't need a PCI soundcard, as long as you have some sound output from your card, it can be amplified ta' fuçk.

One of the reasons I got sub-woofed-amplified speakers is that the volume level from my Diamond card was a bit too low.
And when you've just bought the new 'Ministry of Sound' compilation, you want all the base and volume you can get. smile.gif

if your going for a new speaker set up , an amp and decent stereo speakers are the definite way to go.
Seriously, plus that means you've the bones of a stereo system, and deadly comp set up for **** all.
Check out Richer Sounds there, Dame street in Dublin for class bargins.
