    I'll be going, anyway.

They tend to be big, very big. We've had easily over 100 people at some.

It gets a little cliquey - groups form up, so wandering over to people and saying 'Hi, I'm <blah>' is a good way to meet a whole bunch of new people.

Its always very good natured, rather drunk and fun.

The White Horse is on the quays opposite that Den of Sin, Liberty Hall.

Its a nice pub, but it was getting a bit small really.

Nah, fraid not. Its just a late pub.

I think the last time we were there, and people wanted to boogie-woogie, we went up to Fireworks.

Just remembered I'll be going to see The Dirty Three that night so I'll be a no-show.

I might go. I don't know yet. Have 2 other things to show my face at that night but hopefully I'll make an appearance for a while. Been to one before....think it was just one anyway. Twas alright. Just suss out the people you won't get along with early on, stick with the people that seem like fun and you'll get on grand. Helps if you know at least one other person though.

I'm considering going; I've only been to the Queer Beers so far; not the main one. However, I'm a coward, so may not.

just getting ready for this. im considering only wearing jeans and runners, dunno though is the white horse fancy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,003 ✭✭✭rsynnott

It would, I'm sure, do no harm to wear something on top :)

    I'm not going; too busy.

Right there with you. there was a most excellent party in clare's place in goldsmith hall, i did those funnely things with cider where it goes straight down into your stomach. well i did two or three of those, alongside an ill-advised mixture of beer, cider, vodka, bacardi and coke in one big cup.
much shenanigans later i'm at home with a sore, sore head and a dry mouth. i cant go to bed or ill get the spins. curses.

    i will regret this tomorrow.
