    hey,

got a call from the parent during the week to ask wtf i had done to the pc since the weekend; I was in limerick...

problem is the pc powers on, but the lights on the moniter just flash and there's a blue screen, no text.

I'm assuming the moniter is gone but I'm not home to check.

IF it is the moniter, can you recommend a solid, not so expensive LCD screen to replace it please?

    thanks.

More likely to be the graphics card,i had the exact same problem with one of my machine last week, changed out the graphics card and all was fine :).

:( last time my graphics card went, the screen was blank.

i dont want to shell out on a new card, that was is just over 12months old.

background on the moniter > for the last while it had been constantly resizing during the bootup [post windows screen] and right after I log in as a user.

Im guessing your folks are not using this to play Doom3 :p , get a cheapo graphics card if that is the problem. You could pick 1 up for 30euro, lot cheaper than a new monitor. Maybe just plug the monitot into another pc and check if it works?

heh, no; and I was just looking forward to playing FEAR when i did get home.

****, guess I'll get the bro to test the moniter somewhere else.

    thanks.
