For some cottonpicking reason Opera 8.5 mail has decided to redownload all mail since March this year, how do I stop this maddness?!

Have you reinstalled it or something?

Chances are, it was leaving the mail on the pop server, just marking it as read.

Use a webmail program, such as www.mail2web.com to go in and delete any mails you don't need, then open opera and let it download what it needs.

No I have'nt re-installed it, and I had'nt chnged any setting in the Mail programme. I'll checkout that link.

I've unticked the Leave Mail on the Server option so hopefully it won't happen again.

Jesus H! Thats a slow programme! I'll be here for hours...

    Mike.

check out a program called eremove or eremover... it sounds as if you chose to.. "leave a copy of the email on the server".. is really fast.. I use it in work for huge email accounts.. once had to remove 3 thousand emails for someone...

Mike65: are you using Eircom as your email provider, by any chance?
