might be a question to ask at this next S.U. council. Is there a class rep in the house?

is it really going to be another student bar? great stuff! it'll probably kill the buttery though.

to be honest, i thought there was to be another new bar as part of the luce hall when the student centre is finished but i certainly wouldn't say no to another bar.
And to those of you who say it'll take away business from the pav/buttery just look at either place on a friday and tell me how another pub in close proximity will be negative. I'm always hopping from the buttery to the pav and vice-versa.

The Lincoln Inn run by the Students' Union?! Hah!

Sure they can't even organise a protest let alone a hoolie in the scuttery.

The Lincoln Inn lease was sold several months ago to a professional publican. I seriously doubt the Students' Union would have had the money, let alone the know-how to make a serious offer. There's know way College would dole out even more facilities to an organisation that can't even make a profit out of a prime location shop, travel agency, JCR, book shop, etc., etc.

    So no foxybrowne, it shoudn't.

I used to drink in the Lincoln Inn back in the day. I liked its dark, musty, old-school atmosphere. There used to be an old traffic light behind the bar that was red when the bar was closed, orange for last orders and green when the bar was open.
There was no bull****ty aluminium/UV lights a la Q-bar or Coyote. Twas a proper pub for a good 'aul rant with da ladz.

    Ah you're back! Welcome! *hugs*

Without going into the figures, the annual budget is presented to SU Council every year - I presume it'll be at the second Council - so you can query all you'd like then, especially the nice piece you mentioned about the non-profit making areas. You're right though, Lincoln Inn has been offered to another company. The SU last year didn't make an offer, IIRC, it was seen as unprofitable.

That bait wasn't half as tasty as I would have liked...

Used to drink in the Lincoln a VERY VERY long time ago, great atmosphere but v small. Hugely preferable to the Pav or (spit) the Buttery.
