I have recently been offered a new job that comes with a substantial share package. I am now looking for a bank that can provide me with a custody account to hold/manage my shares.
Not much luck so far. Can anyone recommend a bank that does provide this service?

Does your employer not provide the shares through a particular broker? Where are the shares quoted - Dublin? London? New York? Are you planning on regular trading of this or other shares, or are you just looking for a buy/hold service?

The stock are so-called "over the counter shares" trading on the US Bulletin board. I basically only need a buy/hold service.
Is there any point in setting up an offshore account for this?

If they are US shares, you are probably as well off with a US-based account. Try eTrade - if you have more than $10k of shares, you won't get hit with any fees.
