Have a Sonata 2 case with a Msi 945p neo,I have put the connections from case onto board, but when I place a thumb drive into fronts it locks whole system up and I get a continous bleep. If I put an external drive in the drive with usb it doesnt show up and I get no bleeps.

I have updated all drivers etc.chipset and so on.I wonder would something be wrong with board? Well the Usb on back work fine....

Also installed brothers in arms and get a critical error "History: UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine" I have a Ati X550 pci e,this should atleast run brothers in arms???

Do the back USB work? Have you the front USB connected correctly to the motherboard? i.e. pins

Yup the back all work fine and the front Usb have the no brainer headers were you cant go wrong inserting them.

Hmmm, is there any chance that the front USB ports are causing a short when a device is plugged in - happened to a guy at work with his PC, quite funny. Plugging a USB stick in used to restart the PC ;)

This one totally locks up then the loud bleep! Have to do a hard restart. Maybe its just one of those things, its a fairly new board so maybe a new bios thingy will be brought out.

Think Ill email off msi support.Hey wizZard any thought on the graphics? My old 9700 pro runs Band of brothers!!!! Hehe meant to say brothers in arms...

If it was PCI-E I would recommend the excellent XFX 6800GT that I am selling, but if it's AGP I dunno! :)

Used to happen to me with a Thermaltake Xaser 3 case. Never did figure it out...

Currently have a Sonata 1 with no problem like that though.

Well if my mate had the money I would of advised him to buy that card but he had only a small budget and he got an ATi X550 PCI E.....

Did you change MB going to the Sonata? Maybe its just a bug in MB I have at moment.

oh woops, lol. forgot that little detail, i did change mobo.

Coincidentally, it was an MSI mobo in the Xaser case. I assumed that it was because the Xaser was quite an old case and the ports might not have been up to USB 2 spec, causing mobo to have a **** fit.

Since it's a sonata 2 we're talking about here tho theres no chacne its that

could check that the pinouts on the motherboard match the case ones (usually says on the case connectors, and in the motherboard manual).

Gigabyte used to have a non standard USB connector (same shape as the other ones tho), not sure if they still use it

The Usb connector is fool proof to insert, its already assembled in a little header for you and all you have to do is slot it in,it will only go one way in.But I should give it a good check,it wont hurt....Thanks
