OK so here it is. I have a poor back and a bit of a stoop and curved shoulders as a result of a Lumber Puncture. I've havent trained [ Weight training and arobic training] in about three and a half years. I started back Thai Boxing Tuesday. Half way thru the class my back began to ache and ache. The only way i could relive it was by either placing a pad up against the wall and placing my mid back against it or by bending over. Apparently this is due to a weak lower back. Can anyone recommend some excercies to Strenghten my lower back. Please also bare in mind i do not have access to a GYM.

    Steve

Edit: I have seen some post's requesting Info on Thai Classes in The Meath, Louth Area. Mick Donnelly provides classes Tues and Thurs for Beginners in Drogheda And Advanced Classes Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat. If anyone needs more info PM me

I agree swiss ball work is good , but you have an injury that needs to be healed before you get to a rehab stage.

Do not go to Physio / Chiro , you need to go to a fully qualified Oesteopath.

Simon Curtis is an excellent Osteo, based in Stillorgan.

The key to having a strong lower back, is having strong stomach muscles. Its these muscles that support ur lower back. So, crunches, lots and lots of crunches. And when u notice a difference start doing leg ups. Now its important that u dont start doing leg ups now cos they can put strain on ur back.
And u might ask where i got this info from...i got it from a chiropractor.
