    it's in the US only.
    IMHO it says more about the poor reliabilty of Hard Drives than anything else. Failure rates seem just as high as they were 20 years ago.

    Hard drives are still mechanical.
    When, oh when will they invent a viable digital medium!?

    That being said, I've never had a HDD crash on me, although it could be cos I'm a bit of a light/medium user...

    as i'm finding out tonight, Raid 1 still can't stop some people from destroying their computers. Just means a whole load of spyware/viruses/deleted sytem files x2 :)

    a flash drive = safe when no power
    a ram drive = safe while the battery lasts when no power
