Has any one every experienced tatoo removal. Does it work in Ireland and how much does it cost. I have a coloured tatoo( irish flag) since i was 16 and i hate it. Removal or a cover up . Any thoughts on this.

When you say does it work in Ireland, I assume you meant can you get it done in Ireland, it works anywhere.

Can you show us a pic of the tattoo, that way it would be easier to know if a cover up would work.

I'd always pick a coverup over a removal as removals tend to leave nasty scars, no matter what the method used is.

Have a look at the link I will post below to get an idea of methods and what you can expect with regard to results.

<edit> oops I almost forgot to say, if you are thinking of a coverup then you should ask an artist what you can get done with it, generally with coverups you need to go larger and darker, no other way to do it really, but ask an artist.

I know a girl whose getting a pretty big tattoo removed at the moment.
I don't know much about removal in general...but she says it hurts a lot, which is to be expected.
But I have to say, it's looking good so far and she's only had a couple of sessions.
Can't remember prices, cos I know she's getting discount, but I think she said usually it's about 100euro per session.

€100 per session is cheap i think its about €200 normally well in dublin at least
There's some other stuff you can get "tattoo be gone ink" done the same as a tattoo but it takes the pigment out when it scabs.

Like I said I'm not sure about the 100euro, but I think that's what she said, cos I think they charge her 70 euro per session cos she knows them..

My sis had a tattoo removed awhile back. Its a long process, numerous visits, rather sore, and yes it does scar as such!!!

Can't remember how much it cost, but I think its 300 euro per square inch removed, or something like that (though could be wrong).... All I know is its quite costly, and hurts like hell.

Metalmorphosis in temple bar are bringing a new form of tattoo removing to ireland. It's a gel that goes in the same way as tattoo ink. Once in there the gel breaks down the ink and the body rejects the ink and pushes it out. It leaves absolutely no mark as it is not a laser. It's the best result that i personally have ever seen. I think it'll cost between €100-200 per hour long session. Only problem is they're not sure how long it will take to get it up and running as the staff have to go to london to be trained to do it.

i'v read about that, it sounds cool.
hopefully i'l never want to get anything removed, but it definitly seems like a good option, for those that do.

I know the stuff its just straightforward tattooing and you can buy the stuff online and they'll send it into your tattooist studio i can dig up the linkage if people want it. its quite reasonablely priced then added the cost of the tattooing and it should come to about €100 a session (one hour) but takes about three-four sessions to get best results. seen some good tattoo repair pics done with the stuff

And as if by magic Ta Da!.
Seen some pics of what this stuff can do its good but it doesn't get rid of them completly if you notice the pics on the site are in a bright light so you can't see too clearly but it'll get results comarable to laser at a fraction of the cost.
I've seen some pics of some old tatts getting cleaned up with it and the results are great. Also good for cover ups methinks as you could lighten a tatt up then get it gone over
There's some results of what to expect here its the glycolic acid pics not the best but it gives you the jist of what to expect during the process
