Triax Dish for FTA system

Hoping to install an FTA system in the next few days. Dish being used is a Triax solid (non-mesh) oval shaped job. Its about 53 x 56 cm in size. Astra 2D reception should be ok. But what about Astra 2A and 2B south/north beam reception, especially in bad weather? Footprints for these 2 beams seems to indicate a dish size of about 60cm needed.

Location is Irish west coast, mayo area. Would the Triax be the same size as the standard Sky minidish? What is the size of the Sky dish? Aren't there two sizes for Sky dishes?

The dish you have is a Triax TD64. Diameter of the dish is 64 cm. Reception would be similar to a zone 2 (irish) sky minidish. the smaller sky dish (zone 1) is too small for Ireland. Stick with the triax you have, being constructed from galvanised steel it will last far better than a sky minidish which will rot in a couple of years, esp. near the coast.

If aligned by checking QUALITY bar, it will be fine.

Its actually the TD 54 model. Checked it on the packaging. What size would it be compared to the zone 1 or zone 2 Sky minidish? Is it still ok for my location?
