Open Heart Surgery On A Seymour Duncan Pickup

I did a small repair job on an old Seymour Duncan Jazz Humbucker I had which had sustained some damage to the baseplate. I thought it might be of interest to show the innards of a pickup.

So here is the pickup with the cloth tape removed and baseplate detached from the bobbins. The pickup earth wire is soldered to the baseplate. The magnet is attached to the bottom of the bobbins on the right.

Here is the damaged baseplate. I screwed up the polepieces to make sure I didn't have to put any unnecessary stress on the wires or coil when taking the pickup off the baseplate.

Here is the new baseplate. You can see how the earth wire is soldered on and the hole where the main wire is threaded through.

And after carefully putting everything back together and replacing the cloth tape, here is the repaired pickup.
