Are you guys still having problems with Sky+ since the upgrade or am I the only one ?? - I phoned Sky again today only to be told that all of the problems had been ironed out & that I should,nt be experiencing issues !

Main problem is the live pause not working intermittantly, re-boot the box & its fine again for a while.........

    Thanks

    Andi

not just you. you and everyone i know with a Sky+ box has the same problem. you'd think Sky would have tested it throughly before releasing it

    Yeah, me too.

The live pause and instant rewind gets screwed up every so often.
A reboot does the trick, but I don't like doing that too often.

Always happens at the worst time too...:(

Thanks...there's some consolation in knowing that I'm not alone anyway !

As you say...it always happens just when you 'need' live pause ..Grrr

I don't think too much is going to be done about it in the short term, as there are two EPG upgrades due before Christmas - the extra channel genres and the re-numbering / re-positioning of channels.

God knows what shape we'll be in then. :D

instant rewind is like pissing in the wind with me, prees rewind and you see a lovely x2 rewind icon, but guess what the channel keeps going live, leave it doing what it does and it crashes.
If im lucky i can just press tv guide to get out of waiting 1 minute to watch tv again.
Oh and forget about recording programmes between 12-6am, because all the time its a no signal fault, even tested with the box on and same crap even whan the channel is on the tv.
Ive yet to ring sky but ill wait a while i may just get a new pvr3 off them.
anyways im too busy, the only thing i really get to watch is sopranos on more4.

Swith the box off, unplug it, wait a minute or so and plug it in again. The box will reboot, and will fix the problem at least for a while. As I said in an earlier post, I don't like doing this too often, but there is no other cure.
BTW when you press the 'i' button during this fault, all you see in the banner that pops up is an 'o' in the top left hand side.

I've had that problem too. It's another bug that's cropped up sine the last EPG upgrade.

PVR 1,2 or 3 makes no difference as far as I can see, it's a Sky bug with the upgrade, but try getting them to admit that.

    :(

we've had a lot of failed recordings lately. It's really irritating.

not really an issue with me, thankfully. anything i record in the middle of the night usually records with no problems

Pat is doing a planner rebuild any less dodgy because like yourself I am not mad about frequent reboots? I have done 2 rebuilds and it seems to fix it for about 2 weeks at a time and I didn't lose any recordings. Although as has been mentioned I'm getting a huge amount of failed recordings.
As I said a few weeks ago, who do they think they are sending out defective upgrades, Microsoft?

Certainly a planner rebuild is a lot less dodogy since you are using the interface designed for Sky+
I don't know if the fix lasts any longer. I must try it the next time.
The main reason people would just do a reboot is the length of time required for this is a lot less than a full planner rebuild, plus you don't lost your recordings either. That's the theory anyway ...:D

Sky don't do enough testing of their upgrades IMO. Probably because people are screaming for updates that were promised ages ago, and not delivered.

I should have said that it took 4 reboots one after another before I got the live pause fixed the first time. Then it would last about 4 hours or so. The rebuilds seem to last longer for me but then like everyone else I only notice it's gone when I want to use it. I am really worried about this major epg update and what they will mess up with it.
