Hope I am posting on the right Forum :)

I have broadband with Chorus , thro cable at 35euro a month, no other services from them

I was looking at irirshbroadbands site and their ripwave thingy is 19euro

could any one tell me how reliable is ripwave ?

and what would I be losing out on ? I don't upload, and not so much into downloading (at the moment)
I just shop, bank ,, occasioanllly chat etc. ?

Also I have to move my lappie for the sittign room to a back room office to study so if I stay with chorus will have to buy wireless routers, wireless card ?

Just seeing can I economise anywhere

I ahve browsed a bit here, but search is disabled

How's Chorus BB? Is it reliable? I've never used ripwave but I have never heard anything good about it.

I haven't heard anything about chorus BB. However Ripwave is awful, don't touch with a ten foot stick. Seriously you will be speeds slower then dialup. THis really is a case of you get what you pay for.

BTW I'd be very interested to hear how Chorus BB performs.

Maybe you could run a few tests and let us now the results.

You could run the speed test here http://www.irishisptest.com/myspeed/

Also if you could ping the following servers and let us know the results it would be great:

    www.boards.ie
    games4.jolt.co.uk
    www.google.com
    www.dell.com

I have a lot of friends in Cork who would be very interested in it. If it is even half as good as NTL then it would be excellent.
