    I have to fully format a friends hard drive (only one)
    I made a boot disk from my own xp system but there is no Fdisk.exe on it when I check ??

    how do I f^&kin format this hard drive.

    Do you have an XP cd. Stick this in the drive and it will let you format your disk.

    what options should the xp cd show me so that I can format the hard drive.

    is there a blatant "format" option --as it only seems to want to load xp onto it again

    Download and burn a copy of Hiren's BootCD :)

    got it sorted

    trick is to delete any partitions available and then it will allow you to format the drive
