MV Mobeus Warranty

I'm ordering a mv mobeus today or tomorrow. Unfortunately, according to their sales department neither their standard or platinum(£100) warranties cover shipping from or to Ireland if a laptop needs to be sent back to them for repair.

The standard warranty is 1 year parts and labour, 2 years labour only.
The £100 platinum warranty is 3 years parts and labour collect and return - but as I said the collect and return part doesnt apply in Ireland.
Given this fact, would it still be worth my while to pay the extra £100 for the platinum warranty??
In order for it to be worth it I would have to require £100 pounds in parts for repairs in the second 2 years of the warranty.

    I'm confused...

That's a bit misleading.. it sounds like it'd cover the "bashing". Warranties generally only cover manufacturing defects. And,as the O.P. states, for it to be good value: a fault would have to occurr within the 3 years, cost more than £100, and the unit not to be completely outdated/unsuitable for it's use at that point (i.e. 'worth repairing'). So, my answer would be: No. Extended manufacturer warranties are not worth it (Especially if the manufacturer seems to offeer such little after-sales support in the first place..), unless you think that the unit is fragile/delicate (Or, "made of shoite & mortar") . Insurance (That covers physical damage),at the right price, may be!

Well the standard warranty is for 2 years labour and 1 year parts and labour- now unless you want to pay through the nose getting parts thats fine (ie) CPU goes wallop they wont replace it but they will fix it once you pay for the CPU! Is that correct.

For the 100 quid and piece of mind i say Ya only if you really feel you need it.
Re:bashing, i was talking about travelling ........etc......some laptops are very prone to travel and parts break easily under stress of extreme travel. Not a local trip to work or college!
