anyone here studying at NuiGalway this year?
i am in 1st year here ,and it seems to be pretty cool (cept for the comps.. don't like them at all

.. can't get ssh to work )

is there any chance of a decent lan party around the area?

.. i need my net games fix.. q3 on it's own isn't much of a challenge, and I get tired of the computer admitting defeat within 5 minutes in aok.. and blaming it on a bird flying over it's bloody area of the map.

Where are you living?
what course are you doing?
There is talk of one coming about around October, a asequel to the first one in ages that was held over the summer in The Anno Santo.
Go over to the boards in the games section, and look for a post by DooDee (JP Vaughn<?>).
There was Q3, Urban Terror ( CS mod for Q3), CS (no shiot), various other HL mods, Starcraft, Leeching from others Hdds, beering and Padro Pio relics. Oh, and beefy men wearing nighties.

About IRC in NUIG, what gives? its only one or two ports (6667-6669)
its not like we want 27015 open or anything. heheh.

Al;so, about the mail.
If you setup your accouint as POP one (kinda) with Pegasus, will everything be kept on your 20Meg space?
Especially cookies, cos i don't want to give other less/more responsible ppl the usage of meh name in Boards.

Who would you email/talk to/buy oints for to get a port opened?
Also, what size pipe runs in here?

Hmm, dunno. Just check to see where your cache is being stored. If it's on your U drive... AFAIK your Pegasus mail will be kept in your personal space. Additionally, you can ask Computer Services to change your email account over to bodkin's POP server so you'll be able to access it externally... make up some excuse.

Well I know that my IE favourites are stored in my personal space, and I think they're also common to both Netscape and IE, as they're in the Netscape folder that was there.
I still can't get mIRC to connect to either irc.barrysworld.com through 6667 or irc.quakenet.eu.org through 6667-6669

Also, this workstaion didn't log me off last night, which i'm a bit pissed off about. Not that there was anything worth looking at on it. Just that I clicked OK after selcecting 'Close all proggies and log on as a different user'. FFS. NT. Pffffff

er, I'm livin in Corrib Village (lovely 3 minute walk through the rapist infested woods at night to the student bar )

am doin Science GY301 ... i think I just missed my maths lecture

there was an introductory one at 10 today at o'flahertys, but I went to TB302 cos I am going to do it through Irish... irish maths musn't be starting till monday or something *shrug*

got maths physics tomorrow though *shudder*

I'm doing GY40something. Electronic Engineering.
Got an A2 in hons physics, got B3 in hons maths. Took Geography instead of Chemistry

I might be turning up to a bit of a pary there tonight, provided I scrape together enough mates (and hence cash) for a few cans/bottles/lab samples.

so I might still have a chance

my maths physics lecture was just cancelled cos the arts faculty commandeered (spelling?) the lecture theater. *shrug* no worries
