While I would not agree with bying illegally purchased cigs, it is legal under euro law for you to purchase them in any other EU country for personal consumption. (My understanding of the law)

So if you buy them from say france, and pay french tax, youre home free.

As I am not likely to travel all the way to la belle France just for my ciggies and according to the taxmen it is illegal to send "excisable" products in the post between european countries unless they are declared as ciggies - which probably defeats the purpose as I will then have to pay the tax, does anybody have any other bright ideas ?????

yesmoke.com used to send cigges over to ireland tax free cause i know some of my friends ordered them once and it was all cool.

you can go to another country and buy ciggies there on the way back duty free, but i think there is a limit on how cigs you can carry through customs. max is 4 packets methinks(that would be around 80 packets of 20 ciggs in each).

there's a funny side to this. whenever i go back home(im not gonna say where in case i jeopardize this fiasco :) , if you know shhhh ) for a holiday, people buy cigs at enourmous amounts due to their cheapness(around 40p for packet). so people will actually risk getting caught in the dublin airport and face fines for that precious currency of smoke. ever since this started, on the way back there is always a poor bloke/girl that gets caught with all those cigs and the rest pass without being glanced at. :) its like playing lotto and if you win, youre fu<ked :) if you lose you end up with around 10,000 cigarretes in your baggage happy cause you know you gonna smoke em all.

If you are moving between EU countries there is no limit on the amount you can bring in. Problem is/or not they must all be for you personal consumption. If you sell any of the said tobacco you are committing an offence, namely tax evasion and trading without a licence. I always buy my weed abroad(old holborn rolling tobacco) or get friends who are travelling to get it. Costs about £2.50 for a 50gram pack while in the shops here its nearly a £5 for a 25gram pack. Talk about rip-off.

it is now illegal afaik to use these kinds of places now. and i think they are all being shut down. i think they were al in switzerland.
unfortunately no use to you, but my housemate is an air hostess, so i get all my smokes for 15 quid per 200.
but then again, smokes over here are about 4.40 a pack :(

    Hi,

As a regular user of these cheap smoke services, I can tell you:

    1. yesmoke will refund your money: I'm very suprised that they havn't. They're very professional, and have always responded to any questions I've had. However, due to the sheer numbers of people using them here, they're unlikely to get any of their DUTY FREE cigs through.

So, they were the cheapest of the cheap, and professional to boot, but unless the 'man' has a change of heart, they're sadly closed off to us now.

    2. The second option is to buy from an EU duty paid website: not as cheap, but can still be very significant savings over the price of a packet of tabs here, and there's not a whole lot the 'man' can do about it. www.cigiworld.com has 800 Marlboro for about £115.16, saving you £40, including delivery. I've never missed a delivery (they use TNT, the couriers).

If you were thinking of buying them to sell on, you're fsked. If you were thinking of buying them to save yourself money, cigiworld should work for you.
