Old Digibox New FTV Card - What to do?

    I have recently obtained a working FTV card and yesterday I was given a Panasonic digibox by a friend who has not used it in a couple of years. I will shortly be upgrading to Sky+ with mirror sub and the local installer is going to run a cable from the spare 'slot' on the quad lnb to connect this box up for me.

    I connected the box up for a minute to my current single connection to see if it still worked. The channel labels appeared on the UK EPG ok but no programs appeared. This was just a test so I didn't leave it in for very long to see if anything else came up.

    The EPG software version is 3.1 something and the box I use for my normal Sky sub is 3.3 something (I should have noted the exact versions).

    My question is this:
    Should I simply leave the FTV card in overnight to let the box update or should I try a forced upgrade (and if so can someone remind me how to do that)?
