Am i dreaming or do some people have more money than sense.

I knew Shelby's were sought after, but not to this extreem.
Notice how none of the bidder's Id's are shown, smacks of owner knocking up the bids to my mind.
Ps.. would anyone else spray this car a different colour?

That's a ridiculous price - and the reserve isn't even met at 222K?
I don't even think it looks that good.

Possibly something fishy going on there with bidding alright.

These cars regularly go for that price. 250k for a Shelby is nothing new these days.

A factory 4 speed, 69' GT500 vert is rarer than most Shelbys and needless to say, HIGHLY sought after by collectors

It's crazy, for $89000 you can buy a 'new' shelby with a 60's shell and everything else 05' spec.

I agree that is a lot of money but look at the model of shelby it is...apparantly only 500 built...would that not add to the "rarity" of it?

I never liked what they did to the front of the 69 Shelby. The main thing I like'd about the 69 Mustang is the shark front.

true - why buy an original painting of a famous painter when you can get a foto copy of it as well...:p :p

Anything from 60K to whatever you are willing to pay, $250K being not unheard of. It depends on condition and pedigree, history, etc.

In this case it would be like taking the mona lisa to use as a canvas for a copy of the last supper. Where do you think they get the cars for the clones? They take other classic Mustangs, and f**k the hell out of them and bolt on crappy fiberglass and sell them to gullible rich people as "Eleanors"

I guess there's loads of scrappy Mustangs out there which they can use for that purpose - you don't need a Mustang in good condition if you're about to replace everything anyway (plus it'll reduce the profit, as theMustangs in better condition are (surprisingly;)) more expensive)...

To stay in the picture ;) - that'll be like using a white canvas as old as the last supper to paint a copy of it on it...
