Nokia & Skype

    Not sure if this is the right thread but does anyone know if you can use a usb data cable (like this) to connect your nokia for use with skype?

    Now I know it connects to a PC for 'data transfer' purposes, and does not charge the battery while doing so, but I wonder would it allow you to use the call features?

    Anyone tried it? :)

    Skype won't recognise it. You need to get a usb phone for that. I've got the cordless one (cordless dual phone). It's a bit expensive but if you call a lot you would quickly get the money saved in. Have you checked Skype's shop? The cheapest USB phone is 21.45 (26.40 incl shipping)

    Thanks for that. Yeh, I checked the store. Some nice phones alright but just thought I might be able to use what I got. :(

    Just thought I'd add that some of the cheapest USB Skype phones are abysmal so steer clear of 'em... trust me! The little tiny ones that look like mobile phones. The silver ones with the orange stripe on are bloody fantastic though and they're decent prices. The Dual Phone is great too of course :)
