    Hi,

The need has arisen within our family to hire a home help for one hour in the mornings for our mother who has recently had a stroke. We intend to start looking for somebody this week but have no idea of the hourly rate to offer. Any ideas, anyone? We're in the Cork City area.

Have you checked out if your mother is entilted to home help from the Health Boards.I think the going rate is about €10 an hour.

€10 an hour? Are you having a laugh?

If you mean someone to come in and tidy, clean etc. for an hour a week, you're probably talkin €20-30 per session.

Best of luck to you & your mum.

IIRC the Eastern Health Board pays €10 per hour for home help
