can anyone please tell me just how hard(or easy??) building a pc is, and is it much cheaper?? im getting a new comp soon and i want to know whether i should buy a ready made one or should i attempt to build one myself? is it simply a matter of buying this and that and sticking all together in a box or do i need to be fairly versed in computer hardware to acomplish this? ive never built one before but id prefer to know what the inside of my comp looks like as apposed to getn a nice little package of ignorance from dell.ie, am i fooling myself here thinking i could build one first time without help or do i need to a bit more reading?

building a pc isnt actually that hard... its like a jigsaw... u just gota put the right pieces in the right places... as for the price, well it depends but at least when building a pc you get the experience of building a pc and more importantly you kow EXACTLY what your are putting in it (i say this because i had a nasty incident with a dell mobo..... shudder.....)

most computer shops you can pick the bits you want and they will build it for you for not very much, so you can still have the computer you want.
if you want to build a computer yourself, its not hard, like shane said its a jigsaw but you have to be careful how you handle the parts, i.e with anti-static wrist straps or make yourself grounded. good luck :)

Here's a step by step guide on building a pc, I used it starting off and I never had major problems building, have a read and decide if you think you would be able to. Best of luck.
