Old Disk Structure

I did a system restore last year and choose to keep a copy of my old disk during the restore. Ever since then, the old disk was saved to a folder in my shared documents.

The folder is over 7GB in size and i would like to get rid of it but the computer seems not to be allowing me to delete it. Everytime i try an error message appears saying:

Cannot Delete 1BF1ED~1: Cannot Find The Specified File
Make Sure You Specify The Correct Path And File Name

Is there anyway i could delete this or is it just not possible to delete your old disk structure?

maybe you need to have system restore turned off in order to delete your old disk structure? just a guess!

Thinking it has created an NTFS drive within the actual filesystem.

Try Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
Select "Disk Management" from the tree on the left hand side, and see if there is a drive there without a drive letter equal to that 7GB. If so, right click, and select format on this drive.

    Hope this helps

if a file in the old folder has the same name as a file loaded in memory the GUI delete will fail - try shift delete ?

    into command prompt
    CD %Userprofile% or whatever
then into the folder (be bloody sure you are in the right one)
DEL /Q /S *.* - this will delete all the files not in memory
if not work then you may have to change permissions
    Cacls /T /E /C /G %username%:F *.*
    then try the delete again

    c:\dos
    c:\dos\run
    run dos run

It's always the simple things that slip your mind isn't it?
Thanks shift delete did a good job...reduced the folder to 2GB although the rest must stay there, a few files are being used on my current system
