I'm using the built in XP SMTP to send emails, however i've noticed that the outgoing mails sit in the "queue" folder for a while before actually sending them.
Is there any way to set it to send immediatly?

You can shorten the retry times by going to control panel, Admin Tools, Internet Service Manager look at the properties of the default SMTP virtual server.
    Delivery/Outbound/First Retry Interval.

(He's not using Exchange, he's using XP Professionals inbuilt service)

Thanks ressem, i've already tried that, but doesnt make any difference to the initial send time unfortunately it seems, must be a registry value somewhere that needs changing.
