Anyone going/gone to any of the events this weekend?

I would but I'm not around and I've got nothing resembling a competative deck ;)

Still, I'd like to know how you people got on. If nothing else it'll give this place a bit of life!

and on a completely unrelated note, I'm taking driving lessons! I CAN USE THE CLUTCH AT LAST!!!!!
    :)

    Aaaanyway, Magic, yeah?

(I'm already missing that really loud judge guy...)

I entered the Dublin City Champs on sunday with my B/G Rock deck. its the same as my old death cloud deck with the following changes:

    -1 swamp
    -4 death cloud
    -3 eternal witness
    -3 terror
    -3 barter in blood
    -4 solemn simulacrum

    +1 overgrown tomb
    +2 Plague Boiler
    +3 Yukora the Prisoner
    +4 Putrefy
    +2 Recollect
    +3 elves of deep shadow
    +3 Phyrexian Arena

I made the Top 4 and faced Julien Joly. He was playing a U/R shard phoenix deck, which worked using Shard Phoenix and Pyroclasms to clear the field, and using blue for counterspells, meloku, keiga and thieving magpie. he wins game 1 fairly easily. game 2 i sideboard in 3 nezumi shortfang, 4 cranial extraction and 2 dosan the falling leaf. in game 2 i get an early extraction to remove the phoenix, then follow it up with a shortfang and then another shortfang. i rip his hand to pieces and kokusho flies over for the win. Game three doesnt go so well, he counters my Dosan, then counters my shortfang, then counters my dragon. i run out of steam and meloku swings for the win. I come 3rd/4th along with David C. Murphy and win 3 boosters. Julien is beaten in the finals by a guy whos name i cant remember, but is running a combo deck based around Heartbeat of Spring, Weird Harvest, Early Harvest and Maga, Traitor to Mortals, with heavy blue for counterspells and transmutation of Drift of Phantasms
