The problem with Munster is not the quality of their backs but the offensive coaching. When they get the ball they just put their head down and run straight or pass it. There is no running angles or anything to suggest good coaching. When they get the ball they usually knock it on after 2 passes because they're not used to passing it.

This is Kidneys biggest downfall. He is a conservative old fashioned coach. His teams are well drilled with good set pieces and defence but when it comes to attacking rugby it kick to the corners and try to push their way over the line.

Against Sale on Friday night they defended for the whole game because they couldn't hold onto the ball and sales good kickers punished them. How can a team defend for most of the game and expect to win? All the teams who have won the Hcup in recent years have one thing in common, they take risks. Munster need a change of attitude.

Sorry Knowitall but I don't agree with that at all to put it mildly. I didn't notice Sale running angles during that game either and they're the top English club at the moment. You'd want to be nuts to coach a side to "take risks" in this day and age as modern defensive systems means that it's all about organisation and team work. Munster have consistently punched far above their weight in Europe by using and properly applying the basics: set pieces, organised defense, tactical kicking, etc. Ulster did the same in an earlier era. Teams with limited squads and finances (i.e. all the Irish sides) who "take risks" or try to rely on flair get f*cked at this level. If you think French teams like Toulouse approach matches thinking they'll "take risks" and rely on gallic flair then you're mistaken - they approach big matches using meticulous, almost scientific, analysis and set-piece coaching.

Some people say it's a risk not to take a risk. Toulouse and Wasps play good attacking rugby. Wales won the grand slam by throwing the ball around. Look at the players they had. New Zealand throw the ball around and when their attack breaks down they immedietly kick it because they are a well drilled attacking team. The lions on the other hand just wanted to keep it tight and scrummage NZ out of it.

The major problem with Munster is the coaching of the backs. Their handling is very poor as well as their running angles. Christian Cullen hardly ever got a pass in last years HCup. They might as well have signed Girvan Dempsey!

Knowitall, I notice that your signature is being edited out of your posts. Unfortunately this happened to late for me; I had the misfortune of clicking on the link before it was removed and I was only slightly less disgusted than if you'd attached a link to a kiddy fiddler site. I'd never read such hate-filled disgusting bile in my life. Sorry dude, I'd rather discuss rugby with a serial killer than with you if that site represents your views.

:( Grow up would you! So you don't agree with it, most irish people do. I find it disgusting that you'd prefer "kiddy fiddler" sites to an Irish nationalist website! PM me if you have a problem anyway. This is a rugby discussion so stick to the subject.

I was wondering why it said "last edited by AMZ"!

So you don't agree with it, most irish people do
This will be my last comment on this but if you actually believe that then you really need to see a shrink - you are completely delusional. Most Irish people do NOT believe that there's an international conspiracy of Jews who control the media, most Irish people do NOT believe in the "separation of the races", most Irish people are NOT aghast that there are so many "blacks running the hospitals", most Irish people do NOT believe that there's an "epidemic of bisexuality amoung young women", most Irish people do NOT desire an end to the "Zionist UN", most Irish people are NOT interested in reforming the blueshirts, etc. I couldn't read any more. It's 100% lunacy and if you believe that even 2% of the population would vote for a party expousing such views you're simply nuts.

Yes this is a rugby discussion board but you're the one who introduced a link to a hateful neo-Nazi discussion board in here.
