I want to get the engine bay detailed on my 72 Mustang over the winter, engine and bits degreased and painted, the bay itself treated and painted and maybe some chrome.I have a guy who will do the job, basically removing the engine and doing the whole thing. I'm wondering how many hours will it involve. Has anyone got something like this done on a Mustang before by a company or individual. I'm basically wondering how much I should expect to pay. The guy who is going to do it has a mustang but doesn't know yet how much work/hours is involved in stripping it down.I'd like to do it myself, but I dont have the time, space or knowhow.Any idea's.

Make sure that you rust proof the engine bay after degreasing. Grease & oil may be ugly, but not half as ugly or unreliable as rusty metal parts. Also, watch your bearings with high pressure hoses - a friend trashed the wheel sealed hub on his DS by over cleaning.
