looking for a webdesign project - voluntary

    I'm doing a webmaster course at the moment and i am
    looking for a project to do. If anyone knows of a
    small business wanting to create a site please let me
    know.

    how about designing a online brokerage system which allows user to upload items to sell on ur website. use paypal as a method of payment and take a percentage cut of the sale price and hold the payments until goods have been delevered. then use IPN (feature of paypal) to let people know by email that payments have been processed.

    i can think of loads of ideas for web design projects if u tell me what languages ur doing them in......

    I hope it's more than just a "webmaster" course stablinski, as any lad can throw up a basic html website... it's practice with the right web and graphics programs that makes people better, in which case you don't need to do a course.

    If the course is worthwhile it will be teaching you the backend stuff, like the above. This is what you need to be doing...

    I have 2 projects which may be possibilities for you. One is for a small business start-up which has a lot of its site infrastructure already in place but really needs some smart design ideas. The other is a simple site which needs to run several video clips.

    How about you contact some small voluntary / charity organisations instead of businesses? Personally I would prefer to do a free site for something like that, rather than a business who could probably afford to pay for a site anyway.

    i'd defo agree with that there are loads of charities or ngo's out there that would be more than happy with someone doing a website for them. I know sustainable Ireland are always looking for people to help them out with their website, my boyfriend helped them out for a while. But defo dont do any work for a company for free.

    I have a project going on at the moment that has good content, we just have a couple of issues. One aspect of the programming with database/search engine and also the overall presentation/design is being revised, which would seem to suit what you're looking to practice for.
