I'm trying to play the original Worms on a Dell Pentium4 (Windows 2000). I've managed to install it ok (except for the sound) but when I try and run it (WORMS.BAT), I get black screen with a few short distorted lines and nothing else. It exits backs to Windows when I press any key. Is there any hope for me?

    Thanks

Thanks, I downloaded it. I'm stuck though. I have that Z instead of C but I can;t change it, even after doing what the FAQ told me to.

Sorry, forget all that. Do you have this program?

I can't get this baby going. I get through all the mounting stuff but when I try and run the game I get:

"Press s to skip intro and quickload the game"

When I press s, the DOSbox window just goes black and nothing happens. Do you know what I mean at all!!?

Aye, i've used it before to play "Constructor" (a great game btw). If you sit out the intro, does it still load up ok?

    Try this:

As of version 0.8 of dosbox worms is "definately playable" so just make sure your directories are mapped ok, and that you google for any error messages you get.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I'm still having the same problem. I followed everything here http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=2502&sid=9c7307d54b99103251d02324f47c7cc1

and here http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=8933 but I'm still getting the same problem. Once I get to f:\Worms, I type worms.bat. It then says (just white writing on a black background) "Press s to skip intro and quickload the game". I press s and the writing disappears and I'm just left with the black background. I tried speeding it up in case it was just going very slowly but that did nothing.

    Any ideas??

P.S. How do I name my links instead of putting in those horrible long links?

Should this be moved to emulators? Sorry, I didn't realise what I was getting myself in forwhen I started this thread.
