    Ok before you start laughing this is just a question I know Java clients are un-reliable at best but this is for a friends site

    anybody know of any Java web based clients that work ( I don't want any that have to use relay programs limited b/g on the shell's ) looking confrence room over but have the same security problems

    any suggestions CGi chats are just crap
    easy to code but just not very friendly to use

    Well AFIK you can do all that **** with JavaScript too.
    Just go there and do a search for "chat" and you'll see what I mean.

    But if you REALY want a good IRC Applet thingy, check out http://www.prgs.id-net.fr/

    try aftermath.phishy.net i think he has a nice irc java applet up.

    phishynet being irc.indigo.ie's net but u can change the applet settings for dif servers afaik.
