Would you fold?

This is a hand from a home game. The prize structure is like than of an STT 200 for 1st,120 for 2nd, 80 for 3rd
8 players remain (400 chips in play) 3 big stacks hold a little over 60% of these chips.

Utg goes all in for 11 I'm holding KK. Folded to me (utg+3) I reraise 20 (to 31 in total) attempting to isolate him. Large stack to my left reraises me all in for my last 17. Leaving him with around 40.

I make the utg player for a medium pair or A-x (x>9). Large stack probably has AA. He's now asking me for 17 into a pot of around 90 to call.

    The questions are

Would a push or call have been better than this raise - for my first bet? Why?

Is calling here +ev? (I'm pretty confident of my read on "large stack")

When making that decision how should you evaluate the implied odds of getting in the money with a much improved stack?

If it is only marginally +ev should I be tempted to let it go on the grounds that I may get to do something with my (vastly dimished) stack in the 20 or so hands I can afford to see?

Are there other criteria I need to consider before making a decision?

    Ultimately
I call - large stack has AA utg has QQ. AA took the lot

You played it right IMO, with one guy all-in, I would even have flat called with KK, looking for another customer for a side pot as well.
Having said that some players would see an isolation raise as a weakish hand anyway and given action, so it's hard to know. It depends on previous form.

Either way, you didn't make any mistake in my view.

    You just got unlucky

assuming your read on AA is correct then your 4-1 against to win the had, so there is a case for folding. That said i'd find it very hard to fold KK preflop. I have folded KK a few times in STTs though were theres been a few players all-in preflop and one of them has had aces.

I don't think it's ever an easy hand to laydown though...

You would have to be close to 100% sure he has AA to make laying it down the right option considering how much of your stack is in the middle.

what kind of chip setup are you using? Seems slightly odd!!!

It is a bit of an odd structure but it works for whatever reason -

We play €20 buyin gets you €20 in chips. Blinds 50c 50c rebuys for the first hour and a half. After that a big and small blind as standard. Double the blinds whenever a player is busted out.
