    Scores here:
76-36 Australia at the end of the 3rd quarter. The series is pretty much over barring a miracle

Just watching the last quarter and Ireland are gettting a shellacking!

Good move by Kevin Sheedy picking more agile players.

    Tough game next week boys!!

What can I say?? Without the gorgeous Tadhg you guys are toast! ;)

    Shellacking? Toast?

Maybe this is a rhetorical question but were all the Irish players on the complete pi55 for the last week. Bar Coulter (throughout) and Kavanagh (last 35 mins) they looked completely disinterested. Granted, the Aussies played well and some of their point-taking was 1st class but the Irish boys let themselves down badly. The number of basic handling errors was astonishing.

Although the Australian referee was a bit of a joke – brings a whole new meaning to the phrase a “homer”.

    Just goes to show...

The Aussies really played an Irish style game.

Cavanagh and 'The Gooch' should come over here.

    Good times await...

What was the final score lads? I couldnt watch it because I had a stupid presentation to do in college.

I just found out the score. Australia 100 - 64 Ireland

That is an absolute hammering that we have got. How did we play so badly? Can someone please post up the starting line up for me?

Im in shock at that result. Its gonna take one hell of a performance to turn that result around

    Come on lads!

One of the commentators said that the Irish team needed to take a long hard look at themselves.

    That sums it up!

There are three types of people in the world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wondered what happened...

tbh, i thought the oz tactics were excellent. no kicking and simply hand passing it everywhere. made for a boring match but it worked.

Also handy when the home ref calls everything against the oppostion. Must have handed the aussie forwards about 35-40 points from frees

Does anyone know if the aussie season is over yet? I know the final has been played, but are there any leagues etc being played over there at the minute?? they looked so much fitter and sharper than our lads out there!!

Yeh Salmon it finished a month or so ago....

Don't you know? Tadhg Kennelly from Listowel played for the winning side...The Sydney Swans! :)

OK, we got played off the pitch in every department, so I'm not even going to start talking about we should have done that, or we should have don ethis, we were outclasses.

The one question I do want answering is this... Why, when we were getting hammered off the pitch, is Pete McGrath sitting up in the Crows nest in his executive box?

A GAA manager should be trounching the touchline organising his team (like his Aussie Counterpart) and not doing a flaming Clive Woodward impersonation !

I still go by my earlier tip http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=313533

As hard as the Irish players go at it they will never be as good as the some of the Aussie players who are are coming into the mix.

International rules is at a point where it can either get bogged down in the technicalities of AFL / GAA or it can truly become an international sport with defined rules.

    Game on?

people have to remember that there is a ref in each half of the pitch..one irish one aussie..cant blame it all on a home town ref!

irish team were just shocking...one aussie walked his way through the defence ..and then hit the cross bar  irish lads just taking all the dummys and shimmys thrown their way!!

tis a pity...it would add to the excitment of the game if the matches were more competitive...still i reckon if the americans could be persuaded to watch a few matches they'd love it and it'd become more international than ireland aus....maybe next time the game is on have it in the states somewhere ??

The Americans are yet to play a game.

In the International Rules Series there are three sides which are:

    Ireland

    Australia

    United States

Maybe the Americans are still figuring things out...

The Irish lads looked very disinterested all together. Weren't even talking to one another. Didn't gel well as a team and just lacked any real spirit. Think they're just seeing it as a holiday down under tbh.

Well they'd want to look fitter and sharper, they're professional athletes. At the end of the day, the Irish lads are amateurs.

Yeah they were shocking, but so were australia last year, so Ireland can improve. Ireland had worse teams in the past, but still won so it's very disappointing with the attacking potential Ireland have.

The match is being replayed now on Network Two for anyone who missed it today, like myself!

    :(

only got to watch the first half before getting a bus home but omfg were we terrible.

Aussies were on top all over and deserved the win. Might as well have been an under_age team out there for us.

    bah.

I suppose the one positive we can take from it is that we can only get better for the second test.
