    ok lads

i'm lookin for a new piece of kit and i am willing to spend about €600ish

    so here's what i want

its an xmas pressie off the moth and she won't have the money til december right so no big long shipping times

    if a guitar i'd like:

    decent electronics

possibly 7 string (not a big deal)

or any other things like effects amps etc that would be cool around that price that i might like!!!

i have a few things in mind but just wanted to know what ya'll think??

    cheers!!!!

    RG1527

You can get it from www.guitarbargains.com for €730 including shipping. Excellent guitar, and well worth it.

how long do they take to deliver karl..not sure if the funds will strech that far tbh but its very interesting

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

They deliver via UPS, and it got here lightening fast. I remember I ordered it on a thursday night, and it got here on the monday morning.

You could go for the RG7321:

    RG7321_BK.jpg

It should be about half the price of the RG1527, but if you prefer a trem to a fixed bridge, I'd see if I could stretch the money that extra bit as the trem on the 1527 is awesome.

well see i have an rg370 dx already do i was thinking maybe an sz 520

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Don't like the S ones myself, nothing beats a good old RG. I believe Feylya has an SZ520 though, so you might get his opinion on it. My money would still be on the RG1527. Awesome guitar.

Good stuff, it's always good to see more people join the old 7 string club. You should go check out an 1527 in Musician Inc, that's what I did, thought it was magnificent and said to myself "I'm buying this!" A few days later, I bought it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

i might just go and check it out kh cheers man...if the sz was 7 string i'd get that fo sure...i'm also thinkin about a rack wah system or maybe a screaming demon wah and distortion pedal and maybe something to power them all like a brick or something...i have a ge-7 and 2 wahs and the battery thing is a pian n the hole tbh

Well, well, well - look at this. Jcoote, the biggest GAS instigator in these parts, asking for help on what to buy! :p

That's what you get for giving us bouts of GAS every day - now suffer! :D

You're gonna have to let me play that 370 one day, btw!

I always thought I was the worst instigator. Jesus, Jcoote has bought the g-major and the lite ash. I wonder who suggested that to him... And the LTD EC-400at... And the Randall...

That's an admission of guilt! Be careful, in case some of our wives are reading this! :p

    ...and the Roc Pro :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

Well, in that case, my diagnosis is that jcoote is beyond help so we shouldn't encourage him.

Jcoote, go with the 1200 guitar picks.

    ;)

You can never have too many picks :p

Oh, that list. I thought you meant you had a list of things you're dreaming of buying, and that jcoote was working his way through it out of spite, like with the G-major, and Lite Ash Strat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

pick 2 better bargains on the market..i was just well advised to buy good gear...the g major is only 390 now or somethin btw

No no no. Although, an ESP M-II is now on the list. I just played one in Instrumental through a Spider II half stack. My balls haven't stopped jangling yet :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Right Jcoote. this is your next purchase.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

He's welcome to it. I don't like the maple finger board and SD's in an M series? Oh no no no!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Hmmm, that maple and black isn't working as well together as it does on the Lite Ash Strat... :(

your right it doesn't doc but i still want one :p

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

TBH, get a custom ESP M-II replica from Shamray for about the same price as they charge in Dublin.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Why not just get a real one for less from abroad?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Cos I ****ing hate the control layout on the real one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Ahhh you're too picky Fey, that's why you'll never be happy :p

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Never settle for second best. Otherwise I'll just turn into an old long haired git whinging about no good metal bands ;)

Seriously though, the control layout is impossible to use.

Ahh it looks useable enough, you just need to get with the times ;)

Let go of the hate, Fey, learn to love :p

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Seriously, is it not usable. You have to move your hand around the trem to get at the selector switch. That is not a good thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

anyway i've decided to get a tonecore vibezilla as my 1st item...what a pedal fell in love wit it a while ago so i'm gonna go for that to begin wit
