    Hi,

Sorry if this has been explained before but I couldn't find it by searching.

I have installed Azureus and have downloaded a few files. However, they take quite a long time even with many peers/seeds. Usually the d/l speed is 4-5kB/s and the u/l speed is generally at the max (I set it to 7kB/s).

I am using the 2MB UTV broadband package with a Creative Broadband Blaster DSL Router and I have Windows Firewall and McAfee Personal Firewall installed.

I am getting the NAT Error problem so my smileys are always yellow.

I had a go at forwarding ports following some of the posts here but it still returned the error.

Can anyone tell me what might be going wrong or what I can do to increase my d/l speeds?

    Thanks.

check your lan ip again and the settings of forwarding to your ip on needed ports.
Are you familiar with the rules for forwarding?
Your problem is that some ports are not correctly forwarded (in and out) to your pc.
    Disable firewall while testing...

    edit:

also set upload to max while testing
and im sure you use it to download demos, drivers, updates etc...

    1. disable firewall, just for the time of setting up your modem
    2. go to control panel, network connections, right click on your Lan connection,
select status, select support. note your ip adress like 192.168.1.xx

    wich creative model have you?

It's the Creative Broadband Blaster DSL Router 8133U.

Ok, I set upload speed to unlimited, disabled the firewalls and set up port forwarding on the router with azureus' default port to my local ip address.

The speed seems to be up to around 40+ now and the NAT Test is returning OK!

    Edit:

I've re-enabled the firewalls and everything is still working just fine - was hitting 80+ just now!

    Thanks a million!

    yes,

and see what happens, should b fine with it.
Most filesharing programs limit your download when you limit upload, wich is fair enough.

Ensure that your not using the default ports, as they're blocked by alot of the ISP's, thus a low download rate.

You should set azureus to upload at no more than about 80% of your maximum upstream speed. If your upstream gets saturated, it will slow down your download speed, as you won't have enough upstream bandwidth to send tcp acks for the packets being downloaded.
