    Hi I can not play dvd's since i re-installed Windows, what should I do, I keep getting an error report, this one;

    Windows Media Player is currently unable to play DVD video. Try decreasing the number of colors displayed on your monitor or decreasing the screen resolution. For additional solutions, click More Information to access the DVD Troubleshooter.

    Error ID = 0xC00D116A, Condition ID = 0x00000000

    what do you think I should do, any input would be fantastic, thanks.

    What OS are you running?
    What version of WMP are you running?

    A simple google search

    throws up quite a bit re ATI players...

    medai player doesn't have a Mpeg2 decoder because this would cost Microsoft money

    you need to install powerdvd or windvd even if you aren't going to use it and then you should be able to play dvd as the codec is installed then

    Well since you are using XP, you could try installing Windows Media Player 10 and see if that works better for you.

    Have you checked that replacing xp home with xp pro hasn't done something to your video card drivers. A friends laptop had the same error message from wmp on it today, and reinstalling the drivers did the trick.

    VLC Media Player is free, that might do the job for you.

    Ditto on the video drivers recommendation. Get the correct/latest ones installed, make sure you're at least running 800x600x16bit (minimum) and try again.
