This post would apply most to anyone, students in particular, who are thinking about hosting a college fundraiser of some sort.
I have just finished college myself, and we had to fundraise two radio stations, on both occasions we got stung with a hefty fee from the club management.

Well I am here to take away that sting.... I can get you gasworks @ frazers free of charge, Monday - Thursday, just give me a ring!

Anyway, I hope this helps somehow, cause I know I would have been delighted with a free venue last year.

GASWORKS@Frazers, a force to be reckoned with!

I am fairly certain that, whether you a big sports fan, a local, a tourist, a student or a corporate executive; you will have all encountered Frazers, on O Connell St, at some stage.
Frazers is famed for its thirst quenching pints, delicious pub grub and prime location. It is Dublin’s No. 1 Celtic supporters bar, and what with its big screen TV presentations, it has proven to be a bit hit with soccer and GAA fans too!
They open late, seven nights a week, providing DJ’s and Live entertainment for their customers, who, incidentally, just cant get enough of the place.

Now Frazers would like to think that they have a little something for everyone, so for those of you looking for the latest hot spot in which to get your groove on, please allow us to introduce you to GASWORKS@Frazers.
In recent months Gasworks has crept up the inside line, sneaking up on its competitors, and has proved itself a serious force to be reckoned with indeed. Boasting two floors, and proving popular with students and partygoers, a lot of time, money and effort has been put into this place, and it shows.

Gasworks has enlisted the help of top notch DJ’s, Donal Mulvey and Paul Carass, a move that has definitely paid off. Donal has graced the decks in top venues such as Spirit, the Temple bar Music Centre, Chocolate Bar, Dice Bar and 4 Dame Lane. A big fan of Funky House and dance, he has brought some much needed to flavour to an otherwise bland, generic club scene.

Paul, has an equally interesting background, popular on the HipHop and RnB scene, he gives balance to the Donal’s tunes of choice, and together they make for a great night out.

Gasworks have taken some brave and pioneering steps of late. They are the only venue on O Connell St to host a student night, this happens every Thursday, doors open at 10pm, and the event comes choc-o-bloc with drinks promotions.

They have also have launched a much needed, and sought after “Staff Night Out”. The Monday night affair, known as ‘Deeper Underground’ can only be described as a chance for all those working late on a Friday and Saturday night, to let their hair down and party the belated weekend away.

As if all this wasn’t enough, Gasworks@Frazers is available for hire, with a capacity of 700, its state of the art audio and visual set up, plush interior and fully stocked bar, it has got to be the venue of choice for any event.

It is fair to say that Gasworks@Frazers has become quite the student hang out, and it is, without doubt, a strong contender for the coveted position of Dublin’s No. 1 late night venue.

Hey Guys, I would be very keen to get a few bands in there, I am a big fan of a bit of life music. If either of you want to give me a call I will be happy to go over the details with you. The was it normally works is that you pretty much just rent the venue from myself, free of charge, for the evening, the you promote your gig like crazy, always aim for a minimum of 200 people, as club capacity is between 600-700, so you would really need to get in about 200 people to make it look half way decent. We can work out a few drinks promotions, stuff like that, I look after bar staff and door staff and I will be there on the night, for a while, to make sure your not having any problems.
Thats about it really, its fairly straight forward.
So if it sounds like something you might be interested in, just gimme a call, tell me what dates your interested in and we'll work something out!

Ok I have a question. Do you then have a cover charge on the door? If so how much? Do the bands/people who are putting on the night see any of the money?

I am interested in putting on a gig, but the success of the night and the quality of the performers would greatly depend on the answers to the above questions.

Gasworks is booked up on Friday and Saturday nights, however it is possible to book from Sunday - Thursday.
We provide security and bar staff, so you will incur no cost there, Gasworks is a two floor venue with capacity of 600-700.

FLOOR PLAN
- 1st floor - dj box situated on a raised stage (stage is capeable of accommodating 4 piece band). Open floor plan with main dancefloor and additinal seating to the rear, also consists of toilets.
2nd floor - main bar and seating area, with outdoor smoking area.

SOUND SYSTEM -
6 basebins +/-2000watts. 4 tops +/-1500watts. all amps are located separate to dj box. basic denon cd's and 4 channell gemini mixer. basic lighting system


Should you decide to book an event with me, you receive use of the premises free of charge. You then organize and promote your own event, so line up would be entirely up to you. However, I would certainly be able to suggest bands to you that would be interested in playing on the night, and book them for you, should you be interested.
When booking an event in Gasworks, you must do so with a view to getting at least 250 people in on the night.
We suggest an admission price of €5, and all revenue earned through admission is the property of the event organiser (you).
