Laptop Djing, Speakers?

    Not sure if this is the correct forum buy anyhow, here goes.
    I am planning on using my laptop with a hercules dj console to play some
    private functions now and again but am not sure what speakers system to
    get and how powerful they needs to be. This would range from private
    parties to weddings etc. Any advice on where to buy in Dublin would also
    be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    You'd be better posting this in the Dance/Electronic forum but Im sure all yous get is technical jargon that you wouldnt understand and get advice on expensive equipment that you probably wouldn't need.

    Im guessing you'd be just playing charty stuff?

    Well first of all, it would be a good idea to get a decent sound card.
    As for the speakers, most clubs should have their own PA but if they dont just go to your local music shop and ask, then look for them second hand if you want. Just be sure to listen to see theat they sound good.
