just wondering on which suits take precedence when doing chip races.
I know spades is highest so the ace of spades (if dealt) would take the first
chip. Could anyone tell us the order of the other suits

As far as I know it's Spades -> Hearts -> Diamonds -> Clubs. Could be wrong though.

That's it, it's done in reverse alphabetical order

Reverse alphabetical is the correct order, S > H > D > C , and every freeroll I've ever played has always had a disagreement on this.

I thought it was left of the dealer gets the chip

If there's a split pot with the 2 halves uneven, then left of dealer gets the odd chip.

And a player can not be eliminated from a tournament in a chip race.

So what happens if this would know a player out? Does he automatically get the chip without a race?

This came up last night in Drogheda (suit order being reverse alphabetical).

I was outvoted 9 to 1 (including Tournie Director) .... they all said Hearts was top suit, I accepted decision, but told them all for this week their homework is to look this up on the internet;)

Yes, if he only has a 25 chip left, and the 25 chips are being removed so that 100 chips will be the lowest denomination then he automatically gets a single 100 chip. Then the rest of the 25 chips are raced off as normal.

no no no...if there is one player who could be knocked out of the tourney because of a chip race...then the chip race on that table doesn't happen till that player either has enough for one of the larger denomination chips or they're knocked out...
