The airbag light has just come on in my Alfa 147 for no apparent reason.

When put on the diagnostics machine it come's up with a "1st Stage airbag Failure"....

Any ideas on what may be wrong... or any experience from other Alfa owners.

    Thanks.

Very common in alfas apparently. Could just be a loose connection under the driver or passenger seat:

In some cases it doesn't indicate a fault but is just a quirk of the electrical system. Unfortunately it can only be reset by a special diagnostic tool.

my das girlfriend is having the same problem in her 318i what the problem is, is that every time you pull the seat back quickly is engages the air bag sensor hence the airbag light.
