what laptop to buy

    heya hows it going, need a laptop and was just wondering what to get, have a budget of bout 1000-1200, any good sites or shops around dublin or cork where to buy from?.............

    Please read the sticky "Read this before asking what laptop to buy".

    We need more info - where will it be used, do you need portability or power, wireless, big disk, etc.

    sorry bout that, need a amd processer, not fussed with the card but to handle css, 1gig ram, dvd rw, wireless.

    Thats a hefty enough spec for your budget - Dell Inspiron 6000 fits your specs with a centrino instead of AMD.

    CSS isn't that demanding, really (in my experience)--any decent Radeon will do ya.
    Same goes for processor, though I'm not totally up to spec on AMD Mobile CPUs -- I've been made to know that Intel actually lead here!:eek:
    As for RAM, getting RAM from Crucial.com or Shop4Memory.com will be cheaper than getting it built in. RAM is your best friend;)
    And the other two are easily taken care of.

    I'm not a fan of acer. Their screens arent really up to much in my opinion. Try anything before you buy it. I looked at about 20 laptops before I found a decent screen, they nearly all seem to be fuzzy.
