my theory...contains spoilers*

After seeing all of season 1 and ep1 of season 2 , the theory im gonna go with is definitley that they are all dead and in limbo. if you think about it they all have some sort of unfinished business. the main example would be Boone, he had issues with his siter - then when he learned to let her go , and got over her - he dies.
Also the scottish dude-damien - when he was jogging he said "see you in another life brother" to jack - and now - they meet again on the island.
and Walt too , as soon as he accepts his real father, -hes kidnapped.
any other theories suggestions?

It'd be a good theory if it hadn't been said since the very beginning of the show and been told it is DEFINITLY not true by the producers many times.

Still I like the reasoning behind it...

Well in the beginning, there was the whole "you get to have a second chance" theme i.e. a new life, so I guess it has something to do with that.

when the teacher got blown up he had solved nothing either the theory is decent but flimsy.
its not purgatory or any limbo of sorts and they're not dead.

Wouldn't it be great if it was some extreme version of the truman show?
Like by slightly interfering on everybodies lives in such away that their paths cross and all end up on the same doomed flight.... well it's not impossible. just... very difficult.

i have to say i fully believed that the purgatory idea was right until i saw the new series. its gone all science-y on us now. has anyone else nticed that they have all been involved with conmen/women at some stage?
i.e. [spoiler:] kate is a con, and constantly lies about herself to get what she wants.
sawyer is a professional conman.
lockes dad appears to be too(he conned locke out of that kidney), and we dont know exactly how he became so wealthy.
charlie conned that rich english bird and stole a job and the winston churchill hip flask.
shannon conned boone into going to australia in the first place.
the pyshic tricked claire into getting on the plane when he more than likely knew it was gonna crash. [/spoiler]
im sure theres more, but its something to think about!
